PALM DESERT, Calif. - Second round play was suspended due to darkness at the Fourth Annual University of Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate, with each team having three holes left to play prior to Sunday's final 18. The Broncos finished Round One tied for 17th in the 24-team event.

"We beat six or seven teams this morning, so we have an outside chance to get into the top 10," said Santa Clara head coach Rob Miller. "We are making progress with this young team. Brett (Komoto) is playing well here in the second round, so it's nice to get a solid contribution from a freshman."

Miller's top three players, senior Ronnald Monaco and sophomores Bobby Monaco and Scott Lowe were all right around par in the morning round at the 7,305-yard layout at the Classic Club.

Ronnald Monaco (pictured) is even par for the day prior to play being suspended. The players will resume action tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. PT from the hole they left off. They will continue the final round with the same hole and paining assignments as the first two rounds.
