Broncos Finish Fifth in ITA Team Standings To Wrap Up 2023

TEMPE, Ariz. – For the third-consecutive season, Santa Clara men's tennis finished in the top-10 of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) regional team rankings while individuals Christian Lerby, Guillaume Dalmasso and Arthur Neuhaus all found a spot in the top-20 rankings for singles play. The ITA made the announcement on its final rankings for the 2023 dual match season that includes the top 10 teams, top 20 singles and top 10 doubles for every region on Friday.

The Broncos finished fifth in the team standings for the second time in the last three seasons, also achieving the feat in 2021. It is the culmination of an outstanding season that saw the team go 16-10 overall with a 6-3 mark in league play, and a No. 3 seed in the WCC Tournament.

Lerby, an All-WCC Second Team selection, was ranked ninth in singles to lead the Bronco trio. Dalmasso was ranked 18th and Neuhaus, an honorable mention All-WCC pick and most recently named the recipient of the ITA Northwest Region Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award, finished 20th in the rankings.

Lerby had the second-best finish among all WCC players in the Northwest Region, which includes Portland, San Francisco, Gonzaga and Saint Mary's in addition to the Broncos. Portland's Sema Pankin finished just one spot higher at eighth.

Additionally, the doubles team of Neuhaus and Guillaume supported their All-WCC Second Team honors by finishing eighth in the doubles rankings. The duo was the third-best among the WCC schools in the region behind Portland and Gonzaga.
