Trio of Broncos Named WCC Men’s Tennis All-Academic

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Three members of the Santa Clara men's tennis team were recognized by the West Coast Conference with All-Academic honors on Tuesday.  Guillaume Dalmasso and Santiago Hinojosa were named to the WCC All-Academic Team and Arthur Neuhaus was named as honorable mention.

At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while being a starter or important reserve (participate in at least 50 percent of the institution's completed contests) with legitimate athletic credentials and have at least sophomore athletic and academic standing with at least one year in residence completed at the nominating institution.

Dalmasso, a junior, and Hinojosa, a graduate student, have cumulative grade point averages of 3.763 and 3.577, respectively, to earn two of the 12 spots on the All-Academic Team. 

A finance major, Dalmasso had an overall 18-13 singles record including 13-8 in dual matches, going 11-5 record at No. 2 and 2-3 at No. 1.  In doubles, he was 16-10 overall including 13-8 in dual matches playing atop the lineup to garner 2023 All-WCC doubles second team honors. 

Hinojosa is currently working on his master's degree in finance and analytics having already received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering.  He had a team-high 19 singles wins overall with 11 of those in dual matches playing out of the No. 4, 5 and 6 positions.  In doubles, Hinojosa had a 14-17 overall record including 9-14 in dual matches, primarily at No. 3. 

Having already received his bachelor of science degree in economics, Neuhaus is currently going for an MBA with a 3.578 GPA.  A 2023 All-WCC singles honorable mention, Neuhaus played atop the singles lineup for most of the season finishing with a 6-9 record at No. 1 and 11-10 in all dual matches.  In WCC matches, he finished tied atop the team lead with five victories.  In doubles play, he went 8-5 in dual matches including 5-2 in league play, all coming at the No. 1 position.
