SAN DIEGO - Arthur Neuhaus defeated No. 77-ranked singles player Iiro Vasa but San Diego came up on top 4-1 over Santa Clara men's tennis (4-3, 0-1) in a West Coast Conference contest. It was the WCC opener for Santa Clara and the third conference match for San Diego.
Neuhaus won in straight sets 6-4, 6-4 for the lone Bronco point of the match after the the Toreros (5-3, 3-0) won the doubles point and the first singles match.
San Diego took the next two singles matches including the match clincher on court five by Stian Klaassen over Jack Pulliam 6-4, 6-3.
