SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Coming off the announcement of a No. 4 seed in the NCAA tournament, Santa Clara women's soccer had six players honored by the West Coast Conference on Tuesday. Julie Vass and Dani Weatherholt were named 2015 All-WCC first team, Kellie Peay was named All-WCC second team, Andi Tostanoski was named honorable mention, and Janae Gonzalez and Jazmin Jackmon were named to the All-WCC freshman team.

"I'm very pleased to have six of our players honored on the all-WCC teams and especially happy for Dani Weatherholt and Julie Vass," said Santa Clara head coach Jerry Smith. "Our best line all year has been our midfield so to see two players from there selected is very appropriate. Kellie Peay and Andi Tostanoski played the most minutes for us this year so it's great to see them recognized. I'm also very happy for Jazmin Jackmon and Janae Gonzalez. You never know how the freshman year is going to go so to be honored on the all-freshman team is great."

Vass has started all 20 games for Santa Clara and leads the team with eight goals and 17 points. In the final two games of the regular season she scored four goals.

Weatherholt has also started all 20 games and scored three goals to go with two assists. She scored the game-winner in the Broncos win over then-No. 6 Stanford.

Peay has started all 20 games for the Broncos and scored two goals with one assist from the back line. She also leads the Broncos in minutes played.

Tostanoski has started all 20 games in net and allowed just 12 goals for a 0.59 GAA. She has made 87 saves and is No. 7 in the country with a .879 save percentage. Her stop of a penalty kick vs. then-No. 6 Stanford propelled the Broncos to a 1-0 win over the Cardinal.

Gonzalez has appeared in 19 games with six starts and has scored three goals. She scored a goal in her collegiate debut at UC Davis and scored the game-winner at rival Portland.

Jackmon has started all 20 games in the backline for Santa Clara as a true freshman.

Santa Clara (13-5-2, 6-1-2 WCC), No. 24 in the RPI, hosts Long Beach State (12-6-3, 6-2-0 Big West) in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Saturday at 1 p.m. It is the 25th trip to the NCAA tournament in 27 years for the Broncos and the fifth in the last six years.

Three years ago the Broncos hosted the 49ers in the first round of the NCAA tournament and came away with a 2-1 win.
