Vass Named NSCAA Scholar All-American; Two Other Broncos Recognized

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's soccer had three players honored by the NSCAA for their work in the classroom in 2015. Julie Vass was named to the NSCAA Scholar All-American Third Team and to the NSCAA Scholar All-West Region First team. Andi Tostanoski joined Vass as First Team All-West Region while Dani Weatherholt made All-West Region Second Team.

"The ultimate goal in college athletics is to succeed on the field and in the classroom," said Santa Clara head coach Jerry Smith. "There is no higher honor for that than these awards. For Julie to be recognized on the national level is especially gratifying. We're proud of all three of our student-athletes."

Vass has a 3.98 GPA as an Economics major. She tied for third in the WCC with eight goals and had 17 points. She also led the Broncos with five game-winning goals. Vass was named First Team All-WCC and WCC All-Academic.

Tostanoski maintains a 3.58 GPA as a Biology major and was a team captain. She was a force in net while allowing just 14 goals for a 0.63 GAA, good for second in the conference. She was named WCC All-Academic and All-WCC Honorable Mention.
