SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Santa Clara women's water polo wrapped up day one at the Triton Invitational hosted by UC San Diego, falling 19-1 against UCLA before falling 13-6 against San Diego State.
The Broncos opened the day against UCLA with Maddie Clough scoring the lone SCU goal against the No. 3 team in the nation.
Santa Clara fared better in their second game against San Diego State. Elle Fredrickson tallied three of the Broncos' four goals while Lauren Baglietto scored a pair and Anuhea Ledesma scored the other.
The Broncos (1-3) return to action tomorrow in the final day of the Triton Invitational. Santa Clara will face Marist at 12:30 p.m. and will close their tournament against Pomona-Pitzer at 3:10 p.m.
