Women's Water Polo Splits on Final Day of Home Tournament

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Broncos (2-8) fell to Brown University, 10-5, Sunday morning before defeating Cal State Monterey Bay, 12-4, later in the afternoon.

Lauren Baglietto posted a goal in the opening two minutes of the game to get the Broncos started. 

The Bears responded with five consecutive goals in the first period. Brown University led 7-3 heading into the second half.

Siena Berry and Bryn Gioffredi led the Bears in scoring with two goals each. 

Lauren Baglietto totaled two goals, and Mia Battilega, Elle Fredrickson and Kelly Frumkin each tallied a goal for the Broncos. 

The Bears cruised to a 10-5 victory over the Broncos. 

Santa Clara 12, Cal State Monterey Bay 4

Elle Fredrickson scored four times and drew three kickouts, and Lauren Baglietto added three goals to lead the Broncos to a 12-4 win over the Otters in their second meeting this season.

Cal State Monterey Bay had the first three goals of the game, but the Broncos were able to battle back. 

Lauren Voss posted two goals and three assists for the Broncos, and Kelly Frumkin totaled three steals and an assist. 

Liyara Senadheera posted eight blocks to earn the victory.
