Broncos Fall To Azusa Pacific, 17-12

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Lauren Baglietto scored a game-high four goals, but it wasn't enough as Santa Clara women's water polo fell to Azusa Pacific, 17-12, on Friday at the Sullivan Aquatics Center. 

It was a two-goal affair at the end of two periods as Elle Fredrickson scored inside the final minute of the second frame to cut the deficit to 9-7 at the break. The Broncos (7-14, 2-3) trailed 11-8 at the start of the fourth period, but ultimately was unable to turn the Cougars away as they built on the lead and held on for their first win in league play this season (7-13, 1-3). 

Fredrickson and Kelly Frumkin each finished with a pair of goals whiile Halley Seed, Kate Rodman, Lauren Voss and Sophia Harvey scored a goal each. 

Liyara Senadheera played all 32 minutes in the goal for the Broncos, finishing with seven saves. 

Azusa Pacific was led offensively by Skylar Ford's two goals and four assists.
