SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara University men's golf team is in the Pacific Northwest this week to play in Washington State's Itani Quality Homes Collegiate event at the Palouse Ridge Golf Club.
"This is a small field of nine teams and a bunch of individuals from a few schools and Washington State," says SCU head coach Rob Miller. "The home team should be the toughest to beat."
Santa Clara will be represented by Tyler Kertson, Hayden Shieh (pictured), Evan McLeod, Gio Gandionco and Derek Ackerman. Two more freshmen have made the trip to compete as individuals, Michiel Eyre and Charlie Watson, who will be playing in his first collegiate event.
Santa Clara finished its first event of the season by out-playing four other WCC schools: Gonzaga, Pacific, BYU, LMU. The field this week does not have any league opponents playing.

Details: 36 holes played Monday and the final 18 holes played Tuesday. First-round tee times will begin at 8:30 a.m. Monday, and final round tee times will begin at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
