SIMI VALLEY, Calif. – Bronco sophomore Hayden Shieh fired a second-round 65 – one of four Santa Clara golfers to finish the day under-par at the Bill Cullum Invitational at Wood Ranch Golf Club. Using the team's best collective effort of the year, SCU led the 16-school event for most of the day. The Broncos enter Tuesday's final round in third overall, just five shots behind overnight leader LMU.

Both Shieh and Tyler Kertson finished Monday's 36 holes among the tournament's top 10. Shieh had posted an even-par 72 in the morning, and is in third on the individual leaderboard among a field of 92. Just two weeks ago Shieh was the winner at the Cabo Collegiate and Kertson finished as runner-up. The pair is following that up with terrific play at Wood Ranch, as Shieh went bogey-free with seven birdies in round two to post his best score as a collegiate player.  Kertson finished with a 5-under 67 in round one.
