Ellie Fisher Is Just Getting Started

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Ellie Fisher (EF) has utilized her freshman year to make strides as a player on the Santa Clara softball team. Her progress over the past four months is undeniable. Santa Clara Broncos (SCB) is looking forward to watching Fisher continue to thrive throughout her career on the Mission campus.

SCB: How are you working to make this season the best softball season of all time?

EF: I try my hardest along with all of my teammates. I dedicate the majority of my time both on and off the field to improving my skills and abilities as an athlete. Lastly I try not to lose sight of what is important to me, which is having a good time and making sure that playing softball is a pleasant experience for everyone.

SCB: What are the challenges you and your team are facing with the season coming to a close?

EF: Something that we need to work on is having high intensity and energy throughout the game regardless if we are winning or losing.

SCB: Looking back, what are some of the highlights from your first year as a Santa Clara Bronco?

EF: I was a little nervous coming to school as a little freshman. The first weekend of school our team took a camping trip and by the end of the trip I really felt a strong sense of family and I really enjoyed my first weekend as a bronco.

SCB: Your older sister, Stephanie Fisher, played on the softball team until she graduated in 2014. What impact did that have on you?

EF: Stephanie has inspired me in many ways ever since I was young. I learned the most by watching my sister play when I came to her games at Santa Clara. She also influenced my decision to come to Santa Clara. Without her I would probably not be the softball player I am today.
