Track & Field Notches 24 Collegiate-Best Times at Fresno State Invitational

CLOVIS, Calif. — Santa Clara track & field posted 24 collegiate best times as it hit the homestretch of the regular season on Saturday at the Fresno State Invitational. The Broncos also recorded two new times on the program's 10 top lists — Christian Raslowsky at 800 meters and Hayley Harrison at 1,500 meters at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Raslowsky won his 800m section and took seventh place overall with a collegiate-best 1:53.72, making him the fifth-fastest Bronco at that distance in program history.

Harrison's 1,500m 4:39.54 was good for eighth place is nearly 10 seconds faster than her collegiate-best time from her last race at that distance one month ago. It is the seventh-fastest mark in program history. She has posted the team's fastest times at 1,500m, 3,000m and 5,000m this season.

The meet featured the Santa Clara debut of six runners: Brendan Mulvany, Oliver Branham-Upton, EJ Odocayen Cruz, Luke Johnson, Gabby Navarro and Rocky Doering.

"It was really great to welcome some of our new freshman to competition and even more exciting was how well they executed their races," head coach Felipe Montoro said of the men's performances. "Alex Scales dropped down to the 400m and looked phenomenal, and Christian Raslowsky's 800m heat win were highlights."

"We ran really well in Fresno across the board," associate head coach Pete Cushamn said of the women's team. "They did such a good job being competitive, working as a team, and pushing themselves. I'm incredibly proud all around. This team cares about each other. They love to race and all of that shows in how we performed."
