Women’s Cross Earns Six WCC All-Academic Honors

WCC RELEASE

SAN MATEO, Calif. — Santa Clara women's cross country was recognized for its performance in the classroom and in the competitive arena on Thursday. Hannah Aguirre, Sasha Codiga, Maiya Fujiwara, Hayley Harrison, Sarah King and Hope Olbricht each received a West Coast Conference All-Academic Honorable Mention accolade.

King (bioengineering major) earned her third-straight honorable mention and Olbricht (biology and public health science double-major) was recognized for the second-straight season.

Aguirre (physics), Codiga (child studies and political science double-major), Fujiwara (bioengineering) and Harrison (psychology) were all eligible for the first time in 2020-21 as sophomores.

At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to her team.
