SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Santa Clara track & field's Zach Litoff is set to become the first Bronco in program history to race at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Litoff will compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase semifinal on Wednesday at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
The steeple semifinal begins at 5:32 p.m. and Litoff is slotted to race in the first of two 12-man heats. The top five finishers from each heat plus the next two best times in the field advance to Friday's final.

Litoff topped his own 3,000-meter steeplechase program record with an 8:42.11 at the NCAA West Region Preliminary Meet on May 29. He finished in 12th place of 48 runners to land a spot in the national meet. Litoff was one of three runners to qualify with an at-large time. He took more than a second off of his previous program record of 8:43.43 from the 2021 Oregon State High Performance Meet.
