SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara baseball program announced its dates for its annual Winter Baseball camps, which will be held at Stephen Schott Stadium on the campus of Santa Clara University. During the December holiday season, SCU will offer a Winter Camp from Dec. 20-22, and in January, will host a two-day Prospect Commuter Camp.
Winter Camp
Dates: Dec. 20-22, 2008
Time: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Fee: $125
Camp Description: Our most popular camp session of the summer! Participants will first be grouped by age, ability, and prior experiences. During the morning session throughout the week, participants will be coached in several baseball skills, fundamentals, and team concepts. Members of the camp will receive instruction in a variety of areas including hitting, infield play, outfield play, pitching, catching, rundowns, double plays and base running. In the afternoon, players will use instruction received during the morning session and put skills to use in game situations on the Schott Stadium field. Each team will play together for the duration of the camp week and will be coached by a hand-picked member of our camp staff. When not playing games, campers will hit in our hitting facility or watch baseball-related video content in our Varsity Team Room. Santa Clara seeks a low player to coach ratio to preserve the family-style environment it values. All sessions will be held at Stephen Schott Stadium, Santa Clara's 3 year-old state of the art $8.6 million baseball facility. Campers are asked to bring appropriate baseball attire and equipment including: cleats, baseball pants, hat, glove, bat and helmet (if available). Campers may bring their own lunch or purchase a lunch for $30 when registering online.
