BREMERTON, Wash. - The full team of five was out today, shooting plenty of low rounds, allowing Santa Clara women's golf to rise to third after being in fifth after Day One.

Returning to tournament play after not playing in the first round was Borina Sutikto who shot an impressive 1-under 71. She went 2-under through her first nine then came in at 1-over.  The freshmen duo of Rachael Wang and Audrey Brust continued their strong play today, both firing rounds of even-par 72. Wang is sitting in a tie for 5th at 1-over overall and Brust is in tied-11th place at 3-over.

Lauren Shew was able to contribute her round of 2-over 74 to the team total today as she went out in 1-under on the front nine then went 3-over on the back. She is now sitting in T19 at 7-over. Claire Choi had an unfortunate double bogey on her first hole of the day but was just 2-over through the rest of the second round to post a 4-over 76. Following an even-par opening round, she is in a tie for 13th at 4-over.

With a cumulative second round of 1-over 289, 8 shots improved from yesterday's round, Santa Clara is in third place out of five teams. The Broncos are 7 shots off of second place, Brigham Young, and are 4 shots clear of Gonzaga and San Francisco who are tied for 4th. 17th ranked Pepperdine leads the tournament at 3-under overall. Also the Wave Lion Higo leads the race for the individual title at 7-under after a second round of 8-under 64. The Broncos will be going out in the final groupings in threesomes alongside the Waves and Bulldogs starting at 8:20 AM PT tomorrow.
