Women's Golf Wraps Up Fall Play At Olde Stone Intercollegiate

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara women's golf is set to take part in their last of four fall events on Monday and Tuesday with a turn at the Olde Stone Intercollegiate in Bowling Green, Kent.

NOTES

  • The Broncos are playing in thier last of four fall tournaments. Santa Clara has finished eighth, t-16th and sixth, respectively in their previous three tournaments. 
  • SCU is coming off a sixth-place finish at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational where freshman Audrey Brust had a memorable collegiate debut by finishing in fifth individually. Brust shot a 5-under 67 in the opening round, tying the 18-hole school record.  
  • Santa Clara is one of 12 teams competing for the title at the Olde Stone. In addition to the Broncos and host-Western Kentucky, Middle Tennessee, Indiana, Charleston Southern, Sam Houston State, Kennesaw State, South Alabama, Coastal Carolina, Campbell, Notre Dame and Cincinnati will all be gunning for the top spot. 
  • Santa Clara's lineup for the two-day event will be Claire Choi, Inara Sharma, Audrey Brust, Lauren Shew and Borina Sutikto.  
  • Choi is returning for one final season with the Broncos after a sensational senior campaign that saw her win two individual titles and the third-lowest single-season scoring average in program history (74.03). 
  • Sutikto, now a sophomore, is coming off a fantastic freshman season in which she earned all-conference honors after posting a team-best eight top-20 finishes, including four top-10 turns. She finished the year right behind Choi in the record books with a season stroke average of 74.07.
  • Sutikto leads the team through three tournaments in stroke average with a 73.56. Choi is right behind her at 74.11 while Brust is currently third with 74.33 strokes per round.
