NOTES

  • At the Broncos' event prior, the WCC Championships, Freshman Rachael Wang had the best finish of any Bronco as she placed T10th out of the 25 players who competed. After maintaining a 3rd place position through the first two rounds, Santa Clara fell back on the final day to finish in 5th place.

  • The course of this week's tournament is quite known to the Broncos as well as they play in the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic at the same track annually and won the team and individual title in 2021.

  • According to the General Manager of Ak-Chin Southern Dunes, the tournament is considered to be "a second National Championship event (in which) more college programs and student athletes are able to play into the post-season" (Golfweek).

  • A total of ten schools have been selected to play this week and include the following: Santa Clara, Penn State, Mercer, Western Carolina, Iowa, Texas State, UC Riverside, Middle Tennessee, Grand Canyon University, and Seattle.

  • The five players who will be starting this event to end the year off are Claire Choi, Borina Sutikto, Wang, Lauren Shew, and Audrey Brust. Additionally, Inara Sharma will be making the trip as a substitute for the team.

  • Brust will be going off first for the Broncos at 8:41 AM PT as Santa Clara will play in threesomes with Mercer and Western Carolina.
