Menti Named to U-20 World Cup Roster

CHICAGO – Santa Clara women's soccer will once again be represented on the international stage. Sally Menti has been named to the U-20 Women's National Team Roster for the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in San Jose, Costa Rica from August 2-29. Pre-camp will take place in Houston, Texas from July 30-August 2.

Most recently Menti helped the US to the 2022 CONCACAF U-20 Championship, their record seventh, beating Mexico 2-0 in the final.

Menti has been a key member of the Broncos back-to-back College Cup teams. During the 2020 run to the championship, she was named the WCC Freshman of the Year in addition to Second Team All-WCC and WCC All-Freshman when she scored two goals, including the lone tally in the national quarterfinal match with Clemson, and added six assists. She converted one of the team's penalty kicks against Florida State in the National Championship game.

In 2021, Menti appeared in 21 games and scored a goal with two assists.

In the 2012 edition of the U-20 World Cup, Bronco Julie Ertz captained the team to victory and was named the Bronze Ball winner. Ertz has since gone on to tremendous success with the full National Team, winning a pair of World Cups and playing in two Olympic Games.

The Broncos look for their third consecutive trip to the College Cup in 2022 when the season opens August 18 at San Jose State. The home opener will be August 21 vs. UC Davis. The full schedule can be found here and ticket information can be found here.
