SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara softball released its 2022 schedule featuring games against four teams that qualified for the 2021 NCAA Tournament.
Among the 51 regular season games, 20 will be played at Santa Clara Softball Stadium, 18 true road games and 13 neutral site contests. The Broncos will play seven games against four teams – BYU, Fresno State, Iowa State and Stanford – that competed in the NCAA Tournament last season.
Santa Clara opens its season Feb. 11-13 at the NorCal Kickoff, co-hosted by UC Davis and Sacramento State. The Broncos play at UC Davis in the season opener on Feb. 11.
The following weekend, they travel to Phoenix, Arizona to play in the Grand Canyon University Purple Classic, competing in five games over a three day stretch (Feb. 18-20).
A home opening doubleheader against 2021 NCAA Tournament participant, Fresno State, follows on Feb. 22 before co-hosting the Silicon Valley Classic I with San José State from Feb. 25-27.
March 1 will feature a midweek doubleheader at home against Mount St. Mary's before heading down to Santa Barbara, California to face New Mexico, Wager and UC Santa Barbara.
The Silicon Valley Classic II will run from March 11-13, once again co-hosted with San José State.
The Broncos play nonconference games against Marist (March 19), Iowa State (March 19) and North Dakota (March 20) at neutral sites before closing out with true road games at CSU Bakersfield (March 31) and at Stanford (April 5).
West Coast Conference play begins at Pacific (April 9-10) with trips to BYU (April 29-30) and LMU (May 13-14).
The conference home opener is slated for April 23 against Saint Mary's in a doubleheader. The Broncos will also host San Diego with the game on May 8 serving as Senior Day.
