SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Two home West Coast Conference matches awaits Santa Clara women's tennis this week when they take on Pacific on Thursday at 1 p.m. and Saint Mary's on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Due to current State of California guidelines, spectators will not be permitted inside Degheri Tennis Center. In addition, only essential personnel is allowed on campus. The general public is allowed only to 'pass through' campus, such as on a walk, but no lingering, gathering, lounging, etc. is permitted.
Santa Clara (2-7, 0-1) opened conference play last weekend, falling to Pepperdine 7-0 on the road followed by a nonconference loss to CSUN.
Freshman Finley Kalinic moved atop the singles lineup in the match against CSUN. While she lost the match, Kalinic has a team-best 6-3 record followed by Jamie Schroer at 5-3.
In doubles, JennaMarie Gordon and Giulia Hayer are 5-2 on the season, all coming on court two to lead the team.
Pacific (3-7, 0-2) has lost its first two WCC matches to San Diego and BYU at home. They are 0-2 on the road this season.
Saint Mary's (3-5, 1-1) will play at San Francisco on Thursday before facing the Broncos. The Gaels are winless on the road at 0-4 thus far.
Mariia Kozyreva plays atop the singles lineup for the Gaels and is undefeated at 7-0 this season while the rest of the team is 10-28 in singles play.
