2021 WCC Women's Tennis All-Academic Release
SAN MATEO, Calif. – A pair of Santa Clara women's tennis players, Giulia Hayer and Jamie Schroer, were named West Coast Conference All-Academic honorable mention on Wednesday.
Hayer earned her first All-Academic recognition with a 3.656 GPA. This is the first conference all-academic honor for the sophomore from San Diego who primarily played at the No. 2 spot in the doubles lineup and No. 5 in singles last spring.
For Schroer, who is majoring in marketing, this is the second all-academic accolade after posting a 3.97 GPA. She played in the top three spots in the singles lineup last season and occupied the No. 3 spot in doubles. The junior from Tucson, Arizona was named to the all-academic team in 2020.
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to his team.
