NOTES

  • Santa Clara will be seeking its fifth straight win when Saint Mary's visits Leavey Center. Sandwiching a pair of home wins against San Francisco and Pacific, the Broncos won both matches on their trip to the Pacific Northwest, rallying from two sets down to defeat Portland and sweeping Gonzaga.
  • Saint Mary's enters Saturday's contest on a two match winning streak. 
  • Four of Santa Clara's losses have come against top 25 foes (Oregon, Pepperdine, BYU, San Diego). Two of the program's setbacks in WCC play occurred in five sets - to Pepperdine at home (Sept. 25) and at Saint Mary's (Sept. 28).
  • Santa Clara closed out nonconference play with a 3-0 win over Oregon State at the Boise State Classic on Sept. 17, for their second sweep of the season (also vs. Nevada, Sept. 3).
  • The Broncos rank third in the WCC in service aces per set (1.79), fourth in kills per set (12.33) and fifth in hitting percentage (.225).
  • Julia Sangiacomo (3.58), Sophia Tulino (3.29) and Michelle Shaffer (3.25) rank fifith, ninth and 10th, respectively, in the conference in kills per set.
  • Kat Georgiadis is second in the league at 4.16 digs per set.
  • Shaffer (0.42) and Anna Stucchi (0.41) rank fourth and sixth, respectively, in the WCC in service aces per set. 
  • Nive Tuileta (9.68) ranks fourth in the league in assists per set.

SERIES HISTORY

  • Santa Clara leads the all-time series 54-28 against Saint Mary's. The first meeting occurred in 1979.  In their first matchup this season on Sept. 28, the Broncos fell in five sets to the Gaels

EVENT PROTOCOL - INDOOR
In response to evolving changes brought about by the COVID-19 Delta variant, Santa Clara University has recently updated its event policies. As we welcome patrons into our facilities, we share the following campus policy for indoor athletic events:

For athletic events held in seated indoor venues, SCU requires spectators to provide pre-attendance proof of vaccination verification OR proof of a negative PCR lab-based test within 72 hours of the event. Individuals under the age of 12 are exempt from providing proof of vaccination and testing. Click here for detailed instructions.

TICKETS
Tickets priced at $10 are available either online or at Leavey Center prior to the match. Purchase tickets online and avoid waiting at the arena box office which opens one hour prior to first serve. TRICK OR TREAT MATCH
The Santa Clara program is encouraging fans to come out in your best Halloween costume to the match and afterwards fans are invited onto the court for a post match trick or treat with the team.


PARKING
For weekday matches, the Leavey Center lot (see below for access), located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to first serve. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located adjacent to Stevens Stadium on Palm Drive.
