SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara volleyball announced its 2022 schedule featuring 12 home matches and against four schools that qualified for the 2021 NCAA tournament.

The Broncos play a total of 30 regular season matches, balanced with 12 home and away matches each along with six neutral site contests, starting with the season opener against Chattanooga on Aug. 26 at the University of Georgia Tournament in Athens, Georgia.  It is one of four tournaments the Broncos will play in the nonconference portion of the schedule that includes the Grand Canyon University Tournament (Sept. 2–4), Santa Clara Home Tournament (Sept. 9–11) and the Northern Colorado Tournament (Sept. 16–17).

The Santa Clara Home Tournament will take place at the Leavey Center featuring Fresno State, Tulane and Oklahoma.  A total of six matches will take place over the course of three days with the Broncos facing Oklahoma on Sept. 9, Fresno State on Sept. 10 and Tulane on Sept. 11.

The match against 2021 NCAA tournament qualifier Northern Colorado on Sept. 17 closes out the nonconference schedule before starting the 18-game West Coast Conference slate at San Francisco on Sept. 24.

Santa Clara faces a challenging stretch to start the month of October facing three-straight teams that played in last year's NCAA tournament in Pepperdine (Oct. 1), BYU (Oct. 6) and San Diego (Oct. 8) with the last two on the road.

The Broncos then return to the Leavey Center to play their longest stretch of home matches, four, starting on Oct. 13 against Portland, followed by Gonzaga (Oct. 15), Pacific (Oct. 20) and Saint Mary's (Oct. 22).

A trip to Southern California closes out October against Pepperdine (Oct. 27) and LMU (Oct. 29).

Home contests against San Diego (Nov. 3) and BYU (Nov. 5) kick starts the final month of the regular season where the Broncos finish off playing three of the last four on the road including the regular season finale at Saint Mary's (Nov. 22).

SCU closed out last season on a strong note winning four of the last five matches to finish 8-9 in conference and 12-15 overall.
