Women's Basketball Takes on Pepperdine Saturday Afternoon at Home

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – After getting back in the win column, Santa Clara women's basketball hosts Pepperdine Saturday at 2 p.m.

On Thursday, the Broncos topped San Diego 59-50 to snap a four-game losing streak.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 39-36 all-time against Pepperdine with the first meeting coming in 1978-79. Earlier this season, the Waves escaped Malibu with a one-point win.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (6-14, 2-7) is holding opponents to a league-low 58.0 points per game while forcing 16.5 turnovers per game and collecting 9.2 steals per game as well.

Morgan McGwire leads the team in scoring with 10.7 ppg and rebounding with 8.8 pg. She also leads with 2.3 spg and is second in the WCC with 1.8 blocks per game. Ashlyn Herlihy scores 9.5 ppg, good for second on the team, while pulling down 4.7 rpg. Taylor Berry is scoring 8.4 ppg with 6.4 rpg and Kyla Martin scores 8.4 ppg with a team-high 5.0 assists per game.

THE WAVES
Pepperdine (7-12, 3-6 WCC) started conference play with two wins but has lost six of seven since then. The Waves score 68.5 ppg while shooting 41.4-percent from the floor and 34.6-percent from downtown.

Yasmine Robinson-Bacote is the team's lone double-digit scorer but is third in the conference with 17.6 ppg. She also leads the Waves with 7.7 rpg. Paige Fecske scores 7.8 ppg and adds 2.8 apg. Sydney Bordano has hit a team-high 25 3-pointers and scores 6.8 ppg while Barbara Sitanggan paces Pepperdine with 3.5 apg and 1.7 spg while scoring 5.6 ppg.

Parking: For weekday games, the Leavey Center lot, located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to tipoff. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located on Palm Drive.
