Pacific Comes to Leavey Saturday for Showdown with Women's Basketball

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – For the second time this season Santa Clara women's basketball will put its West Coast Conference leading defense against the league's top offense in Pacific, Saturday at 2 p.m. in Leavey Center.

The Broncos used a big second half to top Portland 67-57 on Thursday night at home.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 27-21 all-time against Pacific with the first meeting coming in 1974-75. Earlier this year the Tigers won in Stockton 55-37.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (8-18, 4-11 WCC) allows 57.3 points per game while forcing 16.3 turnovers per game and collecting 9.0 steals per game.

Morgan McGwire is second in the conference in rebounding (9.3 pg) and blocks (1.8 pg) and fifth in steals (2.2 pg). She leads Santa Clara with 10.3 ppg and has four double-doubles on the year. Kyla Martin leads the team with 4.4 assists per game and is second in scoring with 8.2 ppg. Ashlyn Herlihy also adds 8.2 ppg with 4.7 rpg and Taylor Berry scores 7.9 ppg with 6.4 rpg.

THE TIGERS
Pacific (13-13, 7-8 WCC) is scoring 76.0 ppg on 42.2-percent shooting from the field and 33.3-percent from beyond the arc.

GeAnna Luaulu-Summers is fourth in the WCC with 17.6 ppg and first with 5.6 apg. She leads the Tigers in 3-pointers made (51) and steals (2.7 pg.) Jenelle Grant leads the team with 7.0 rpg and is scoring 7.5 ppg while Ameela Li scores 12.5 ppg and Desire Finnie scores 10.0 ppg.

Parking: For weekday games, the Leavey Center lot, located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to tipoff. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located on Palm Drive.
