SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Former Santa Clara men's basketball player Henry Caruso has signed a professional contract in the The Netherlands.
Caruso, who played for the Broncos in 2017-18, inked a deal with New Heroes Basketball, which is based in 's-Hertogenbosch and is a member of the Dutch Basketball League.
A graduate of Princeton who transferred to Santa Clara, Caruso played in all 31 games during his final collegiate season, averaging 12.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game. He reached double-figure scoring in 24 games, including nine of his final 10. He ranked seventh in the WCC in rebounding, fourth in offensive rebounding (2.4 pg) and sixth in the league in steals during 2017-18.
Last season, he served as one of Santa Clara's graduate assistants.
Caruso played in 105 collegiate games (74 starts), averaging 10.2 points and 5.0 rebounds on 50.4 percent shooting from the floor, including 39.7 from behind the 3-point line. A native of Burlingame, California, he was a 2015-16 All-Ivy League performer. He suffered a toe injury during 2016-17 that limited him to eight games with the Tigers and enabled him to earn a medical redshirt.
