Men's Basketball Plays Saint Mary's Saturday on the Road

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - After having its six-game winning streak snapped on Thursday, Santa Clara men's basketball looks to get back on track on Saturday against Saint Mary's in its second-straight road contest.

Tipoff between the Broncos and Gaels is set for 5 p.m. in University Credit Union Pavilion.

The Broncos (14-3, 1-1) are coming off an 80-61 loss at San Francisco on Thursday in their West Coast Conference road opener. Charles Minlend tallied a career-high 25 points for the Dons who shot 53 percent from the floor. DJ Mitchell had a career-high 21 points and Trey Wertz scored 13 for the Santa Clara which had its six-game winning streak snapped.

The Gaels (15-3, 2-1) have won six of their last seven, including Thursday's 87-84 overtime home win over BYU. Santa Clara is seeking its first road win of the season.

• Santa Clara has won its last 16 home games, dating to last season. That streak is the third longest in school history and ranks first all-time during the Toso Pavilion/Leavey Center era (since 1975-76). Santa Clara has not lost at home since a 66-55 defeat to Saint Mary's (Feb. 14, 2019).
