SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference announced the 2020-21 women's basketball schedule on Wednesday. WCC play begins Dec. 28 and runs through Feb. 27.
The nonconference schedule will be released once finalized. The NCAA announced last month that teams may begin competition on Nov. 25.
Santa Clara had seven players graduate after last season but still welcome back its second leading scorer (10.3 ppg) and top rebounder (6.7 pg) senior Ashlyn Herlihy. Also back is Merle Wiehl who scored 9.2 ppg and led the team with 45 3-pointers made.
The 2020-21 conference campaign begins on the road, with trips to San Diego (Dec. 28) and BYU (Dec. 30) before starting the home slate the next weekend with visits from LMU (Jan. 2) and Pepperdine (Jan. 4).
A trip to Saint Mary's (Jan 7) and Pacific (Jan. 9) is followed by the longest stretch at home as Gonzaga (Jan. 14), Portland (Jan. 16), and San Francisco (Jan. 23) make visits to Leavey Center.
Pepperdine (Jan. 28) and LMU (Jan. 30) will host the Broncos before a return trip home sees Pacific (Feb. 4) and Saint Mary's (Feb. 6).
Three in a row on the road features Portland (Feb. 11), Gonzaga (Feb. 13), and San Francisco (Feb. 20) before the regular season comes to and end with a pair of home games against BYU (Feb. 25) and San Diego (Feb. 27).
The WCC Tournament is scheduled for March 4-9 at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.
