Whitehouse Signs with Tottenham Hotspur

LONDON, England – Sophie Whitehouse has signed a professional contract with Tottenham Hotspur in Tottenham, London after spending the 2019 season with Santa Clara.

Whitehouse was born in nearby Enfield, so this will be a homecoming of sorts for her.

"I'm super-excited to join Spurs," Whitehouse said. "I've always targeted playing professionally in England so to have this opportunity is amazing. I was born in Enfield so I've always been a fan of the Club from afar. This is probably going to be one of the best years for the WSL so far because of all the talented recruits that teams including Spurs have made, so it's an exciting time for me to come into the set-up here and I'm really excited to get started."

She appeared in 13 games for the Broncos, including making the start in all three NCAA Tournament matches. On the season, she allowed just two goals for a 0.28 GAA and had 24 saves for a .923 save percentage.

Whitehouse started her career at Columbia University where she served as a team captain her final year, before transfering to the Broncos.
