CARY, N.C. – Santa Clara women's soccer, the 11th seed, is set to take on No. 2 seed North Carolina in the semifinal of the NCAA Tournament. Kickoff is scheduled for Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Pacific.

The semifinals and final will be played at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C. Capacity of the venue will be capped at 30 percent and tickets are available to the general public.

The Broncos, the only non-ACC team to make the semifinals, beat 14th-seeded Clemson 1-0 in the quarterfinals on Sunday to advance to their 11th NCAA College Cup, including first since 2004. That total ranks tied for third in NCAA history.

North Carolina advanced with a 1-0 victory over Texas A&M. The Tar Heels have appeared in an NCAA-record 29 College Cups.

The winner of No. 1 Florida State and unseeded Virginia in the other semifinal will play either the Broncos or Tar Heels for a national title Monday at 2:30 p.m. Pacific.

All but Virginia has captured a national title. North Carolina has won a record 21 times. The Broncos were victorious in 2001 and Florida State in both 2014 and 2018.

Santa Clara has outscored the opposition 7-1 in three NCAA Tournament matches, including a 4-1 second-round win against Ohio State and a 2-0 victory over No. 6 seed Arkansas.

SERIES HISTORY
