SANTA CLARA, Calif. – There are two changes with the Santa Clara women's soccer schedule.
The match scheduled for Friday at LMU has been canceled. The West Coast Conference decided the contest would be marked as a forfeit since the Lions have a limited roster due to injuries.
NCAA rules require at least seven student-athletes be available to start a contest. LMU had the minimum number but would not have been able to field a full starting 11.
Attempts to reschedule for later in the spring were unsuccessful.
In addition, the 13th-ranked Broncos match scheduled for Monday at noon at Pepperdine, has been moved to Tuesday at 3 p.m.
Santa Clara is coming off a 2-1 road win at then-No. 13 BYU, in a matchup of the top two teams in the WCC preseason coaches poll.
