Meet the Future of Women's Soccer: Holly Furphy

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's soccer signed Holly Furphy to a National Letter of Intent last week. Furphy is from Melbourne, Australia and attended Maribyrnong Secondary College. She will enroll in 2022.

During the 2020 season, she was selected the All-Australian Football U18 National Team. The previous year she won the Principal's Award at her school and her team won the U18 Girls School Sports Victoria Premier League.

Furphy was part of the U20 Young Matildas, the country's national team, extended squad and training camp in 2010 and part of the Emergin Matildas Squad in 2019-20. She was also in a train on position for Melbourne Victory Football Club in 2019-20. From 2015-20, Furphy was with the Victorian National Training Center Team and in 2018 was a Football Federation Australia selection into Maribyrnong Sports Academy and College Elite Athlete Development Program. Furphy captained the U15 Victorian State Team in 2016 where they won the National Youth Championship and she was awarded the Golden Boot.

In her free time she enjoys hiking and bushwalking, going to the beach, and travelling. She also loves animals, especially her two dogs Chilli and Rocket.
