Nonconference Matchup With No. 17 BYU Coming Up for No. 9 Women's Soccer

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – In a showdown of two of the top offenses in the country, No. 9 Santa Clara women's soccer hosts No. 17 BYU in a nonconference game Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Last week the Broncos won at No. 24 Pepperdine 4-3 in double overtime and 4-0 at home against Pacific.

Due to current guidelines in Santa Clara County, spectators will not be permitted inside the Stevens Stadium. In addition, only essential personnel is allowed on campus. The general public is allowed only to 'pass through' campus, such as on a walk, but no lingering, gathering, lounging, etc. is permitted.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 9-2-5 all-time against BYU with the first meeting coming in 1993. Earlier this season, the Broncos went to Provo and beat the Cougars 2-1 in a WCC matchup.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (5-0, 5-0 WCC) is ninth nationally in scoring with 2.8 goals per game. The Broncos have outscored their opponents 14-4 while holding a 74-33 advantage in shots and a 42-15 edge in shots on goal.

Kelsey Turnbow has scored at least one goal in every game and leads the team with six. She has also added two assists for 14 points. Turnbow is fourth in the country with 1.2 goals per game and fifth with 2.8 points per game. Izzy D'Aquila has scored three times and added an assist and Kaile Halvorsen has found the back of the net twice with three others scoring one goal apiece. Sally Menti leads the team with four assists and Julie Doyle, Marika Guay, and Eden White each have two.

Marlee Nicolos has allowed four goal for a 0.88 GAA and had seven saves for a .636 save percentage.

THE COUGARS
BYU (8-3, 5-1 WCC) is fourth in the country with 3.45 goals per game and has outscored its opponents 38-14. The Cougars have a 228-121 lead in shots and a 107-61 mark in shots on goal.

Mikayla Colohan leads the team with 10 goals and has three assists for 23 points. Rachel McCarthy has scored eight goals, all coming off the bench, and has five assists for 21 points. Cameron Tucker leads the team with six assists and has scored five times.

Cassidy Smith has allowed 13 goals and has a 1.20 GAA. She has 45 saves and a .776 save percentage.
