SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's soccer faces a tough road test at BYU Saturday at noon Pacific in a matchup of the teams picked first and second in the West Coast Conference preseason poll.

The Broncos topped Saint Mary's 2-0 last week for their second win in a row to begin the year.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 8-2-5 all-time against BYU with the first meeting coming in 1993. Last season the two teams tied 2-2 at Stevens Stadium.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (2-0, 2-0 WCC) is outshooting its opponents 33-7 and holds a 19-4 advantage in shots on target. The Broncos have earned 16 corner kicks while allowing just three.

Kelsey Turnbow and Izzy D'Aquila are tied for the team lead with two goals apiece. Turnbow also leads the team with two assists and six points. Julie Doyle, Sally Menti, and Marika Guay each have added an assist.

Marlee Nicolos has posted two shutouts in goal with three saves.

THE COUGARS
BYU (4-2, 2-0 WCC) has outscored its opponents 18-10. The Cougars have a 118-79 edge in shots and a 47-38 lead in shots on target.

Bella Folino leads the team with five goals and 12 points. Rachel McCarthy has a team best four assists and has added three goals for 10 points. Mikayla Colohan has scored four times with Cameron Tucker scoring three goals.

Cassidy Smith has played the bulk of time in goal and allowed nine goals for a 1.62 GAA. She has 26 saves and a .743 save percentage.
