STANFORD, Calif. – Berk Harvey, who will join the Santa Clara men's golf team in the fall, has qualified for the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship, which will be played next month.

Harvey, a San Jose native who attended Bellarmine Preparatory Academy, shot a 3-under par 67 on Monday to win the Stanford qualifier, played at the school's course under windy conditions.

He joined three other golfers – Eddy Lai, Aaron Chen and Max Ting who all shot 2-under – as qualifiers for the national tournament from among the 117 participants in the one-day event.

Harvey was one of only six players under par in the round, carding six birdies, one bogey and a double bogey on the 6,727-yard course.

The U.S. Junior Amateur Championship will take place July 17-22, at Flint Hills National Golf Course in Andover, Kansas.

In September, Harvey will join fellow recruits Jack Avrit and Zackary Kaneshiro on the Santa Clara roster.
