Men’s Tennis Travels To UC Davis For A Sunday Match
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Riding a five-match winning streak, the Santa Clara men's tennis will play UC Davis on Sunday, Feb. 18 at the Marya Welch Tennis Center.

The last four wins of the winning streak have come at home and this trip to Davis will be the first road match since mid-January when they played at the East Coast Challenge in West Point, New York.

"It's always going to be more difficult on the road.  In my opinion you have to be at least 20 percent better than your opponents on the road to beat them.  But our players are playing great and confidently but UC Davis is a really good team.  We saw a lot of their players over the fall when we played Aggie Invitational so we know what their courts are like.  But we'll relish the opportunity as they are a new opposition that we haven't played in a couple of years," said Broncos head coach Niall Angus.

At the Aggie Invitational, the Broncos claimed 12 singles wins and seven more in doubles during the three-day tournament.  Jesus Tapiador Barajas posted a 3-1 mark in singles and teamed with Vasileios Iliopoulos to capture two of the three doubles outings.

In the current dual match season, Andrew Gu and Connor Garnett are undefeated in singles play, both with a 5-0 record.  Gu and Seby have teamed up to post a 6-1 record in doubles play from the first position with Tapiador Barajas and Iliopoulos going 5-1 on court two.

The Aggies (2-7) are looking to put an end to their three-match losing streak with two of those losses coming against West Coast Conference schools, Portland and Gonzaga.
