Men’s Tennis Lose To 47th-Ranked Oregon, 5-2
EUGENE, Ore. – Santa Clara men's tennis lost, 5-2, on the road to 47th-ranked Oregon on Thursday at the Student Tennis Center.  
 
Playing indoors, the Ducks (10-6) jumped on the Broncos (8-4) early, winning the first four points to clinch the match before Santa Clara took two of the last three points.  
 
Connor Garnett got the Broncos on the board with a three-set victory over Cormac Clissold playing on court No. 4.  Garnett improved his singles record to 8-2 on the season, tying him for the team-best mark along with Andrew Gu and Jesus Tapiador Barajas.
 
Tapiador Barajas picked up the second point of the day for the Broncos beating Akihiro Tanaka in three-sets, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 on court No. 3.  
 
Playing on court No. 1, Gu fell to the 13th-ranked singles player in the nation, Thomas Laurent ,7-6(5), 6-3.  
 
Laurent teamed up with Clissold on court No. 2 to clinch the doubles point against Tapiador Barajas and Vasileios Ilipoulos.  The Oregon pair was the #21-ranked doubles pair entering the day.  
 
The Ducks got the clincher when Simon Stevens defeated Robert Seby 6-3, 6-4.  
 
The Broncos will stay on the road and play Boise State on Saturday at 11 a.m. PT.
