Women's Soccer Welcomes Notre Dame to Stevens Stadium Friday Night

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Continuing its longest homestand of the season, Santa Clara women's soccer hosts No. 20 Notre Dame Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Stevens Stadium. The Broncos and Fighting Irish have played in 13 of the last 14 seasons.

Santa Clara is 6-13-1 all-time against Notre Dame with the first meeting coming in 1995. Last year the Broncos fell 2-1 in South Bend as part of the Notre Dame Invitational.

A pair of tough contests last week resulted in ties for Santa Clara. The Broncos battled Marquette and Wisconsin to 1-1 ties on Thursday and Sunday.

THE BRONCOS
Jordan Jesolva leads Santa Clara (2-2-2) with three goals and seven points. Jenna Roering, Julie Vass, Janae Gonzalez, and Kellie Peay each have one goal for the Broncos with Jesolva, Roering, Maddie Gonzalez, and Jazmin Jackmon each collecting an assist.

Melissa Lowder has started five games in net and has allowed five goals for a 1.05 GAA. She has 14 saves and a .737 save percentage to go with one shutout.

Courtney Ogren came in to start the second half against Marquette and made her first career start vs. Wisconsin. She has allowed two goals for a 1.03 GAA and has 10 saves for a .833 save percentage.

THE FIGHTING IRISH
Notre Dame (5-1) picking up w1-0 wins over Illinois State and Missouri last week. The lone loss of the season came at Michigan during the second week of the season. The Wolverines won the match 2-0.

The Fighting Irish have outscored opponents 9-2 this season and outshot teams 113-48. Notre Dame a 37-26 advantage in shots on goal.

Jennifer Westendorf leads the team with three goals and six points. Four other players have one goal each. Kaleigh Olmstead and Cindy Pineda lead the way with two assists each and three others have collected one assist apiece.

Kaela Little has allowed just two goals for a 0.34 GAA. She has made 23 saves and has a .920 save percentage to go with four shutouts.

Group discounts are also available through our ticket office sales and service consultants. Gates to Stevens Stadium, as well as its ticket office, are open one hour prior to the start of the match.

Parking: For weekday matches, the Leavey Center lot, located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to kickoff. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located adjacent to Stevens Stadium on Palm Drive.
