Eight Women's Soccer Players Honored as WCC All-Academic

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – With the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament Saturday, Santa Clara women's soccer had eight players honored for their work in the classroom on Wednesday by the West Coast Conference. Julia Vass was named to the WCC All-Academic team for the second consecutive year and seven other Broncos were named honorable mention.

Vass, a senior Economics major with a 3.98 GPA, had the highest GPA of the 11 selections. She was also honorable mention in 2014. In 2015 she was also an NSCAA Scholar All-American Third Team selection.

Hailai Arghandiwal, Janae Gonzalez, Jenna Holtz, Jazmin Jackmon, Melissa Lowder, Kellie Peay, and Jenna Roering all received honorable mention. It was the second honor for Arghandiwal, Holtz, and Peay and the first for Roering.

The Broncos play at No. 5 Georgetown on Saturday at 9 a.m. Pacific for a trip to the College Cup being held at Avaya Stadium in San Jose. Fans can watch the match here.
