Women's Soccer Plays at LMU Sunday Afternoon

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Continuing its swing through Southern California, Santa Clara women's soccer plays at LMU Sunday at 1 p.m. The Broncos and Lions are battling for position near the top of the West Coast Conference standings.

Santa Clara is 18-4-1 all-time against LMU with the first meeting coming in 1993. Last year the Broncos won 2-1 in overtime at home. In 2014 they won 2-0 in Los Angeles.

On Friday the Broncos allowed two or fewer goals for the 41st straight game but fell at No. 19 Pepperdine 2-1.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (5-6-4, 2-2-1) has gotten goals from eight different players this season and assists from nine. The Broncos have outscored opponents 16-15 and hold a 78-70 advantage in shots on goal.

Jordan Jesolva leads the team with five goals and three assists. Jenna Roering has scored three times and added an assist. Julie Vass and Kellie Peay both have two goals and four other have one goal each.

Melissa Lowder has played in 12 games and allowed 11 goals for a 0.90 GAA. She has 37 saves and a .771 save percentage while picking up four shutouts. Courtney Ogren has the other of the Broncos five shutouts this season.

THE LIONS
LMU (10-3-3, 5-1) has won three in a row, with its only conference loss coming to BYU at home in a 1-0 match. The Lions have also lost at Oklahoma and at USC.

They have outscored opponents 34-15 and outshot teams 232-205 with a 111-91 edge in shots on goal. Other teams have drawn 81 corner kicks to the Lions' 69.

Sarina Bolden and Maddie Medved lead the team with four goals each and have three and four assists, respectively. Medved and Pilar Torres, who is second on the team with four goals, are tied for the team lead in assists. Five other Lions have scored multiple goals each and four others have at least two assists apiece.

Charlee Pruitt has started 15 games for LMU and has allowed 15 goals for a 1.04 GAA. She has made 67 saves and has a .821 save percentage. Pruitt has four shutouts and the Lions have six as a team.
