Women's Soccer Receives NSCAA College Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Santa Clara women's soccer was awarded with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) College Team Academic Award for exemplary performance in the classroom as a team during the 2015-16 academic year. The Broncos finished the academic year with a 3.30 team GPA.

To qualify for the award, the team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year. The team GPA is determined by adding every player's GPA, then dividing by the number of players.

Last season, the Broncos had nine players honored by the West Coast Conference for their academic prowess. Andi Tostanoski and Julie Vass were named to the All-Academic Team and Hailai Arghandiwal, Megan Crosson, Jenna Holtz, Megan Keeth, Kellie Peay, Kat Uhl, and Dani Weatherholt were honorable mention.

A total of 892 soccer teams (315 men, 577 women) from throughout the United States have earned the honor. The other WCC schools on the list were Saint Mary's, LMU, Pacific, and Gonzaga.
