SANTA CLARA, Calif.—With the beginning of college tennis two short weeks away, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) ranked Santa Clara senior Katie Le at No. 20 in the 2013 preseason rankings. In addition, Le is the fifth alternate for the main draw of the 2013 Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships and will play in the qualifying rounds in Los Angeles, Calif. at the end of September.  It is the highest preseason ranking for a Bronco in school history.

"I'm really excited for the upcoming fall season because I'm going in the highest ranked I've ever been during my collegiate career," said Le. "Although I didn't make the main draw of the All-American Championships, I'm going to be more motivated to get past the two rounds I need to win at the qualifiers to get myself there."

Last year, Le entered her junior season ranked No. 41 and then jumped to No. 26 at the start of the dual season. With her highest ranking yet, Le looks to break even more records throughout her last season on the Mission Campus.

"She's accomplished so much over the past three years, and this is a great way to start her final season," said Bronco head coach Ben Cabell. "She deserves everything she accomplishes."

At the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships, the singles field will be loaded with talent with No. 1 Sabrina Santamaria from USC and No. 3 Robin Anderson of UCLA, who defeated Le in the 2nd Round of the NCAA Singles Championships this past May, 7-6(1), 6-2.

Le will have to battle through two qualifying rounds to make the main draw slated for October 3-6.
