USTA/ITA Tournament Results

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – In its second tournament of the fall season, the Santa Clara women's tennis team travels to Palo Alto, Calif. from Fri., Oct. 10 to Sun., Oct. 12 in the USTA/ITA Northwest Regionals. The tournament is hosted by Stanford University at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium.

This is the second tournament of the year for the Broncos who now carry a little more experience under their belts.

"Last tournament, we pretty much started without practicing so this is going to be nice after we have been practicing together a little more," said Broncos head coach Ben Cabell.  "We are really young with a lot of freshmen; they had a really good first tournament so I'm excited to see what they can do."

Carrying a squad much different than last year's, the Broncos are looking to find a rhythm early in the season.

"We're mixing and matching our doubles teams to try and find the right combinations," said Cabell.  "One of our goals is to try something different so we can get an idea of what's going to work."

Santa Clara will be represented this weekend in singles and doubles by Elaine Chesoni, Chelby Cooke, Zeina El Tawil, Nabila Farah, Riley Morgan, Delphine Rouvillois and Danielle Zinn.

Along with Santa Clara, the other schools participating in the ITA's Northwest Regionals are California, Cal Poly, Eastern Washington, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Oregon, Pacific, Portland, Portland State, Sacramento State, Saint Mary's, San Francisco, San Jose State, Seattle, Stanford, UC Davis, Washington and Washington State.

Matches begin Friday at 10 a.m.
