PORTLAND, Ore. The Santa Clara women's tennis team was defeated 6-1 by the No. 61 Portland Pilots in its final regular season match.  The Broncos end the dual season with an overall record of 7-11 and a conference record of 3-6.

Portland jumped out to a 1-0 lead from doubles wins.  Continuing her trend of down-to-the-wire matches, Zeina El Tawil shone for the Broncos with a 5-7, 7-6 (3), 1-0(5) singles win over Jelena Lezarevic.  But the Broncos were unable to fight off the surging Pilots, who finish the season 15-5 overall and 7-2 in the WCC.

The Broncos are locked in to the seventh seed going into the WCC Championships, which kick off Tues., April 21 in San Diego.
