Santa Clara Women’s Tennis Team Sets WCC All-Academic Pace

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara led all West Coast Conference women's tennis teams, as five Broncos received 2015 Women's Tennis All-Academic honors.

"The biggest thing to me was that everybody who was eligible to be on the team, made the all-academic team," said head coach Ben Cabell.  "We had five kids that could have made it and all five of them did; that's pretty impressive."

Sophomore Nabila Farah (pictured) and junior Delphine Rouvillois were chosen for the WCC All-Academic First Team.  Farah carries a 3.70 cumulative GPA in civil engineering, and Rouvillois has a cumulative GPA of 3.93 while studying finance.

Graduate student Elaine Chesoni (3.56 cumulative GPA), sophomore political science major Daniella Silva (3.35 cumulative GPA) and junior finance major Chelby Cooke (3.55 cumulative GPA) were named All-Academic honorable mention, rounding out Santa Clara's impressive academic résumé.

"Our girls did incredibly well academically, and I'm proud of them to be recognized by the conference," Cabell said.  "They absolutely deserve it."
