MALIBU, Calif. – The Santa Clara women's tennis team lost to Pepperdine 7-0 today at the home of the Waves.  The Broncos move to 6-8 overall and 2-3 in WCC.

On a three-match win streak, Santa Clara was unable to make it four against the No. 15 Waves.

Though Nabila Farah and Daniella Silva were leading 4-3 against Guillermo and Runglerdkriandrai at No. 1 singles, Pepperdine closed the doubles play on courts 2 and 3 before they had a chance to earn the win.  Chelby Cooke and Delphine Rouvillois were defeated by #25 Maddox and Cutura, while freshmen Riley Morgan and Zeina El Tawil fell to Feneridis and Gulbe.

Pepperdine beat out Santa Clara in singles to earn the 7-0 victory.  Two Broncos faced off against ranked players: Rouvillois took on #10 Lorraine Guillermo and Cooke played #95 Apichaya Runglerdkriangkrai.  Rouvillois lost 6-1, 6-1 while Cooke pushed her matchup to three sets, eventually losing 5-7, 6-2, 10-6.  Silva also held a close match for Santa Clara, taking Matea Cutura to three sets but falling in the end 2-6, 6-3, 10-3.

With four regular season matches remaining before the WCC Championship, Santa Clara returns home for its next two matches, facing Saint Mary's on Apr. 10 and Pacific on Apr. 11
