SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Santa Clara women's tennis team travels to Moraga, Calif. from Fri. Oct. 24 through Sun. Oct. 26. to the home of conference rival St. Mary's.  The Broncos are looking to string together a few more quality sets in their penultimate push of the fall season.

This tournament is the third for Santa Clara this year, following trips to UC Berkeley and Stanford over the past month.

"We've played a lot of matches in the last month, and we're in better shape and are better prepared for this," said Santa Clara head coach Ben Cabell.  "We are trying to get a few more good wins under our belt before the season starts."

Santa Clara seeks to build off the most recent tournament at Stanford in which five players tallied singles wins.  Delphine Rouvillois led the pack for the Broncos in Palo Alto, notching three consecutive wins before falling in the round of 16.

"We had pretty good results at Stanford and are looking forward to playing again," said Cabell.  "Delphine had a great tournament at Stanford and she's looking to establish herself as one of the better players in the conference, which is great for her and for us."

Santa Clara gets a look at some WCC teams this weekend, which include the host Gaels, Pacific and San Francisco.  They will also face competition from California, Cal Poly, Fresno State, Sacramento State, San Jose State, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara and Washington at the Timothy Korth Tennis Complex.

Along with Rouvillois, Santa Clara will be represented at St. Mary's by Elaine Chesoni, Chelby Cooke, Zeina El Tawil, Nabila Farah, Riley Morgan and Danielle Zinn.

Matches begin bright and early Friday morning.  Check back in to the tournament website for updates.

Draws to come.
