SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara women's water polo team travels to Sonoma State on Saturday to play its final road game of the month.
The Broncos (2-6) face the Seawolves (0-3) at noon in Dr. G. Edward Rudloff Pool.

Santa Clara competed in the four-game, two-day Triton Invitational in San Diego last weekend. Though the Broncos did not come away with a win, they look refocus this weekend.
"After a four-game weekend, it will be nice to key in on one game going into next weekend," said head coach Keith Wilbur. "We play Sonoma State one or two times every year, and it is always a good game. I think we grew as a team this past weekend, and I am excited to see how our players come out Saturday."
The Broncos are using the week of practice to hone their man-down offensive situations and execution of timeout plays.
"I think we need to execute better in our 6-on-5 opportunities and in time out situations, both offensively and defensively," said Wilbur. "Those plays really make a difference in close games, and that will be a focus this week in practice."
Santa Clara dropped its final three games at the Triton Invitational by a total of only five goals.
"It was a rough tournament where we came out on the wrong end of three close games," said Wilbur. "That being said, I was proud to see our team keep a positive attitude and continue to battle every second of every game, even when things were not going our way. It is still early in the season, and there are parts of the game that we can definitely improve upon. If we do that and keep the positive attitude and energy that I saw this past weekend, I believe we will be on the right side of those close games going forward."
Sonoma State and Santa Clara face each other quite often. They have played three times each of the last two seasons. The Broncos won them all last year and the Seawolves won two of three in 2017.
The Broncos will make their first home appearance on Saturday, Feb. 23 by serving as the hosts of the Santa Clara Invitational. The Broncos will face Cal State Monterey Bay at 9 a.m. and UC Davis at 3 p.m. in Sullivan Aquatic Center. Those two teams will face off at noon.
